Catalano Fenske & Associates (CF&A) is a team of inspired professionals who specialize in public relations, public affairs, marketing, event planning, communications, fundraising, and business development. Since opening our doors nearly 20 years ago, relationships built on trust and respect with our clients, the media, local governments, elected officials, and the business community are at the foundation of who we are and why we do what we do for the communities and people we care so deeply about.

<p><strong>OPPORTUNITY</strong><br />
Alongside writing Mendota Unified’s newsletter, CF&A is also in charged with acquiring press coverage for the district when the need arises. CF&A was quick to respond to a monumental win for the Mendota Junior High Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement team (MESA) who placed 1st overall in the MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition for their “FentaKNOW” app. An app they created that informs you of the Fentanyl symptoms, dangers, antidote, where you can get it, and a 911 button in case of emergencies.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong></p>
<p>CF&A was responsible for the following tasks:</p>
<ul>
<li>Use our extensive contacts to secure appropriate news coverage in both television and print</li>
<li>Coordinated all talking points for teaching staff and students</li>
<li>Coordinated recognition by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors and the California State Senate</li>
<li>Wrote proclamations for various elected officials</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULT</strong></p>
<p>CF&A secured all television networks, secured the front page of the Fresno Bee, and coordinated recognition by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors and California State Senate to accept a proclamation acknowledgment of their success.</p>

CF&A was hired by the Sunnyside Little League to plan a press conference highlighting a $1 million restoration plan of their original 1962 field house.</p>

<p>CF&A was responsible for the following tasks:</p>

<li>Use our extensive contacts to secure appropriate news coverage in both television and print</li>
<li>All logistical details such as script writing, press release, scheduling, and site preparations</li>
<li>Secured the attendance of local elected officials to participate in the press conference</li>
<li>Plan demolition with contractors to make it safe, exciting, and successful</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULT</strong></p>
<p>CF&A brought out all media networks, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer, acquired a front page spot on the Fresno Bee, and successfully demolished the Bakman field house.</p>

Addressing the needs of our most vulnerable population is the core of what CF&A strives to do every single day. In an effort to address the needs of the hungry and unsheltered, CF&A developed a key relationship with the Poverello House which provides hot meals, shelter, and a host of social services to meet an individual’s daily needs. CF&A’s primary duty is public affairs and the development of key relationships to help move the mission of the organization forward and to develop strategies around it.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong></p>
<p>CF&A is responsible for the following tasks:</p>
<ul>
<li>Grant research</li>
<li>Assist in communication strategies including all press events, strategic round table conversations, and fundraising events</li>
<li>Advocacy work with local, state, and federal officials to ensure their mission and message are heard and known</li>
<li>Troubleshoot potential project bottlenecks and develop approaches to overcome them</li>
<li>Develop key funding strategies to fund major capital projects for the organization</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULT</strong></p>
<p>CF&A has assisted in raising millions of dollars for the organization and help put a strong focus on meeting the immediate needs of the most vulnerable population through housing, hot meals, and social services.</p>

Habitat for Humanity

<p>CF&A has had the privilege to work with Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area since 2004. CF&A is tasked with securing the needed funding to help facilitate the development of projects and to execute a media strategy around them.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong></p>
<p>CF&A is responsible for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Grant research, development, and writing</li>
<li>All major fundraising events from planning to execution</li>
<li>Development of annual fundraising strategy from planning to execution</li>
<li>Communication work including all press events, newsletters, and yearly reports</li>
<li>Advocacy work with local, state, and federal officials to ensure the mission and message are known and heard</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULT</strong><br />
CF&A has raised nearly $20 million for Habitat since 2004. This has helped fund the construction of nearly 180 homes that allow affordable homeownership for local families while also creating significant exposure for Habitat’s mission and vision to serve Fresno and Madera County families.</p>

Educational Foundations

												<p><strong>OPPORTUNITY</strong></p>
<p>CF&A has been honored to support the efforts of three independent, non-profit corporations for Sanger, Riverdale, and Firebaugh Las-Deltas Unified Schools since the early 2000s. The overall goal of these school district Foundations is to help expand and maintain programs with a focus on funding new and innovative educational programs, initiatives, grants, and scholarships. CF&A is tasked with fundraising efforts, public relations, and coordinating all events.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong></p>
<p>CF&A’s wide range of responsibilities for these Foundations include but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Logistics and execution of all fundraising events, including large annual events such as Taste for Education for Riverdale Unified and Harvest for Education for Firebaugh Las-Deltas Unified</li>
<li>Acquiring cooperate sponsorships, creating graphic design for all digital and printed marketing & materials, and coordinating all needed personnel for all events</li>
<li>Sanger’s lead manager and fund developer of Granville’s annual Home of Hope contest and fundraising</li>
<li>Liaison for both Sanger and Riverdale Unified with local news networks for both crisis communication and positive programs</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation and navigation of board and committee meetings</li>
<li>Manage and facilitate grant funding and distribution for all three Foundations</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong></p>
<p>We have collectively helped these educational Foundations raise over $2 million since their inception. These boards serve as a way to subsidize grant funding and keep the community connected to its schools.</p>

The Allergy Institute

Dr. A.M. Aminian of the Allergy Institute is a leading allergy, asthma, and immunology specialist who has practiced in the Central Valley since 1986. When the Allergy Institute first reached out to CF&A, their patient referrals list was lacking, the website was not updated nor patient-friendly and their social media was non-existent. When it comes to building a large, digital presence in any healthcare industry, there are many aspects to be aware of, which CF&A took charge of.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong><br />
Social media and digital marketing are important tools to increase business visibility. To increase the number of new patients and improve brand awareness of the Allergy Institute, CF&A was tasked with the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Generate effective <span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><em>Facebook Ads</em></span> that target people considering services while building brand<br />
awareness around the Allergy Institute</li>
<li>Coordinated <span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><em>Google Ad</em> </span>campaigns that targeted potential patients who are shopping for<br />
allergy and asthma services</li>
<li>Created a visually appealing and easy-to-use<span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><a style="color: #1a9c9c;" href="https://www.allergyinstitute.com/"><i> website </i></a></span>for patients and people looking for<br />
services</li>
<li>Create <span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><em>email campaigns</em></span> that are engaging and relevant for asthma and allergy sufferers</li>
<li>Produce <span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><a style="color: #1a9c9c;" href="https://www.facebook.com/AllergyInstitute"><em>Facebook</em> </a></span>and<span style="color: #1a9c9c;"> <a style="color: #1a9c9c;" href="https://www.instagram.com/allergyinstitutefresno/"><em>Instagram</em> </a></span>campaigns and posts to engage followers</li>
<li>Create <span style="color: #1a9c9c;"><em>Youtube videos</em></span> to help give his patients a virtual alternative learning experience</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong><br />
Dr. A.M. Aminian of the Allergy Institute has seen a steady increase in new patients coming into the office. His digital presence has greatly flourished since the launch of Facebook and Google Ads which helped with the increase of new patients.</p>

Tesoro Viejo

Nearly two decades ago, McCaffrey Homes was approved to build Tesoro Viejo, a master-planned community built just south of Madera nestled near Little Table Mountain. As a new place to call home for many, Tesoro Viejo recognizes that offering community events for potential homeowners and the public is invaluable to continue the growth of the community and its growing presence in the Central Valley.</p>
<p>CF&A was tasked to expose Tesoro Viejo to potential homebuyers and the general public, while also generating new customer leads. To do so, CF&A coordinated all logistics and planning of events to increase exposure and customer leads of the blossoming community by offering unique and exciting experiences for everyone of all ages.</p>
<p>This effort led to monthly events held at various locations within Tesoro Viejo. These complimentary events have included Farmer’s Markets, “Bunny Hop” Easter Egg Hunt, Model Grand Opening, Summer Concert Series, and other seasonal events. These family-friendly events are for potential homebuyers or community members who want to experience exciting events in the Madera Ranchos area.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK<br />
</strong>To make the event as special as possible, CF&A was responsible for the following tasks:</p>
<ul>
<li>Coordination of all logistic details like activities, musicians, and vendors</li>
<li>Execution of marketing strategies like flyers and social media</li>
<li>Create theme development and décor</li>
<li>Manage logistics like equipment, audio, and visual rentals</li>
<li>Program and run of show development</li>
<li>Create relationships with community partners to bring unique and special offerings for events</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong><br />
Every event brings a variety of people who are future homeowners, families, and people who want to experience community events. The word of mouth and recognition of the Tesoro Viejo community grows tremendously after each event, whether that is through social media or other forms of communication. These events, coupled with an aggressive social media campaign have generated large customer leads for Tesoro Viejo, since these events are always in close proximity to their model homes.</p>

City of Fresno

In 1964, Fulton Street was transformed into one of the largest pedestrian malls (Fulton Mall) in the Country.  Some 52 years later, and after decades of debate, the City of Fresno moved forward with an aggressive revitalization plan to return Fulton Mall to Fulton Street, making it accessible to cars once again.  Our goal was to excite the community about this change for Downtown Fresno and develop a unique way to display the future of Fulton Street.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong><br />
Our plan was to replicate the event that happened 52 years ago.  To do this, CF&A was responsible for coordinating all logistics including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Concept creation of what the historical event should be in its entirety</li>
<li>Program, script, and run of show</li>
<li>Coordination of Federal, State, and Local elected leaders</li>
<li>Handled all media relations</li>
<li>Deatiled organization of all things audio, visual, and equipment</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong><br />
After 52 years, approximately 3,000 residents with a host of local, state and federal officials came together to celebrate the rebirth of one of Fresno’s most historic streets. The ceremony was covered by a multitude of local and national news outlets highlighting this historic occasion. Fig Garden Village

For more than 50 years, Fig Garden Village has served the greater Fresno community as a shopping destination for people of all ages. CF&A has created numerous seasonal events designed to drive retail sales and family-oriented activities to retain shoppers for longer periods of time.</p>
<p>This effort lead to the development of events such as Fig Gig, Fall Fest, and Holiday Open House. These free events are open to the public and come with complimentary activities like train rides, crafts, photo opportunities, live music, and more.</p>
<p>Our most popular event, Fig Gig, is a semi-annual concert series that not only entertains but helps raise money for local non-profits. With the help of a local band and the Fig Garden tenants, we are able to offer new or previous Fig Garden customers a unique experience of entertainment, community goodwill, and shopping amenities for people of all ages.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong><br />
To do this, CF&A is tasked with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Organization all logistical details of these events in their entirety</li>
<li>Development, design, and execution of all digital and printed promotional materials</li>
<li>Creation of branding and advertisement strategies along with social media campaigns for all events</li>
<li>Development of all messaging of the event including the production of a television commercial and program scripts</li>
<li>Partner with tenants from Fig Garden Village for Fig Gig raffle basket donations and to correlate in-store sales during the events</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong><br />
Fig Garden Village typically sees a dramatic increase in foot traffic, which results in tenants experiencing an increase in sales and gaining new customers. With just Fig Gig alone, it brought in nearly 5,000 participants in 2022.</p>

Ask the Mayor

												<p><strong>OPPORTUNITY</strong><br />
In an effort to expand local resident’s participation in local government, CF&A brokered a partnership with CBS 47 and Valley Public Television to host the first of its kind televised town hall with then Mayor Ashley Swearengin.<br />
The format allowed for questions from a live studio audience, as well as those from viewers using social media during a live town hall meeting.<br />
The live studio audience members included community and business leaders.</p>
<p><strong>OUR WORK</strong><br />
CF&A was responsible for coordination, set-up, and all logistics of this event.<br />
Some of this included:</p>
<ul>
<li>Establishing the protocol for the question/answer session for Mayor Ashley Swearengin</li>
<li>Securing sponsors for the event</li>
<li>Facilitating the reception for approximately 75 guests</li>
<li>Catering and bar services</li>
<li>Handling audio and visual needs</li>
<li>Providing all floral arrangements</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>RESULTS</strong><br />
This first of its kind event was successful and gave the former mayor an opportunity to talk directly to the community. The simultaneous broadcast on both Valley PBS and CBS 47 gave exposure to a large local audience.</p>
